ok, the train track fire reaked havoc with my allergies but we made the most of the weekend.

Ok, tried doing the soldering framework on a glass piece and it looked crappy. So now I need a new way to frame my pieces...metal ? (Sean?) wood (anyone?) ceramics (???) oh, and how do you like my home-made windchime.

Donna Summers...

ok, one eye on American Idol and one on Blogger...but the weekends like a million miles away.
Took the girls to Goethe, alive with Spring, sun and greenery. For me Goethe is my church and we worshipped happily with our family.

Then Lori O and I went to a early show tied to Second Saturday...young artists with avantegarde stuff...some good some crap.

Sat nite we had a good adventure seeing Bryce's improv group, Project Dufflebag perform at ARC. It was an event, kinda like a live "who's line is it anyway." Bryce commanded the stage when he occupied it and works/plays with a diverse load of crazies!!!! But no one was crazier that the person I sat next to (not you JO) during the first half of the show. Yes I sat next to Marilyn Manson lookalike who was overcaffienated twitching the entire time and a laugh louder than anyones! //simon is harassing the first singer// Bryce Rich's pix were too dark but his video brings it back, MM's laugh included :P

Beautiful weekend

I worked in the studio all day on Saturday, while Rich worked. Then we watched Family Man with Nick Cage-Loved it!!!! Sunday was for chores....these pictures reflect what I accomplished and what Rich accomplished.

Well the long anticipated house remodel is under way at the Pyles... Stay tuned to this channel for regular updates and progress photos of the transformation.....So far the electrical trenh has been a fun day of hard pan diggin....6 or so hours and alot of gatorade and the SMUD box was in place. Mark finished off the trench tonight and hopefully the Inspector will sign it off early next week. Can't wait to find out whats next....Till next time SEEEYA

girls gone wild

Ok really middle aged girls gone wild! Sherrilina and I drove down to Santa Cruz Friday night to Anna's beach cottage. Yes two blocks from the beach. The girls laughed, danced, shared stories, drank and just had the best time. Oh yeah there was utimately eating and shopping with a splash more drinkie drinkie. Anna hosted the greatest vackay with fresh cooked cookies, coffee and a bit of comedy all in the coolest house ever. She has her certification in Feng Shui and it shows, I could sit for hours just looking at her pictures, no detail to small was completed with flair, mirrors, flowers, lights, fountains and buddahs everywhere. It was delicous.

Rich however stayed home and worked diggin a huge ditch at Mark's. The Pyles are starting their remodell....best of luck friends. Love me the long weekend!!!! K

great weekend of chores

I know some of you understand...got to catch up on a bunch of stuff and with the sunshine there was no denying the fact that the house required cleaning. first let me back up... friday morning Margaret and I worked out in the am, before work...when I went to put my shoes on I realized there was a problem. I had two black boots, one left and one right...the only problem is there were two different shoes. One with an inch heel and the other with like an inch and a half. So I went "with it"...as you must when packing your clothes in advance. But by lunch I was hurting, you know when you go to the chiropracter and they tell you that you are out of alignment...well thats totally what i did to myself. What a geek. So all weekend I've had to baby my neck, lower back and hip.

As for Rich, he and Greg went to the MoNStEr TrUCk rally at Arco. There were quad races and monster trucks. It was loud, exhaust filled and crowded with testosteroned boys (of all ages). Just ask Rich to see his videos from his phone.

Saturday we did chores and the house looks better with a little TLC...but the animals think we are just idiots making such a racket. Saturday night we went to Taro's for Sushi...haven't been in almost a month (can you believe it?) Great date night, one of fav chefs was there and Rich and Johnny love their banter!!! See my progress with my suncatcher project, at stained glass class.

nice three day weekend

Well we have appeased the "art gods" this weekend. We worked on some pot melts, fire polished some new pendants and are going to try combing tonight, keep your fingers crossed. Then the best was the reorganization of the art room, yeah. And Ikea now has more of our money. Saturday was very fun geocaching in Placerville and eating at the Hangtown Grill. We found the Gold Bug Mine, which was really cool but we couldn't go in with the dogs. We will return as it had three mines and worth further investigation. All in all much Football and good football to boot this weekend. Now back to work...oh well another stained glass class on Thursday and 24 is back on...life isn't too bad.

Stained Glass Class

I attended my first Stained Glass class. Damn Rainbow Glass got more of my money. The owners wife asked me why I was taking the beginers class and we both scoffed...but I totally learned new techniques. Me and my new 70 plus year old boyfriends are all part of the Thursday class. One factoid that I thought was amazing, stay with me...when I fuse a 4 by 4 inch glass piece, I take the kiln up to like 1350 degrees and bring it down to 1000 and hold it for an hour to anneal the glass, to avoid cracking...so when they made the Hubble lense (still with me?), the had to anneal it for six months to ensure that it didn't crack. Ok, that was Glass magic news that just blew me away. My goal is to combine what I've learned in fusing and combining the two techniques. Ok, since I hate my "all talk" entries...so I'll share my New Years Eve Pot melt which I thought was a sucess. The picture doesn't do it justise, you can't see the iridized red swirl...K

Practice<> Practice <>Practice <>Practice

Well I am reallly getting in to the Sushi makin.... Since you are a regular reader of the Marckmadness chronicle you know we took a class in Sushiology and now I have the bug big time. The first victims...I mean guests were Sean and Lori and since Lori is not a fan I had a tough audience.. Suffice it to say I have not changed her opinion....Sean however was game and we polished off a bunch of Spicy Tuna Hand rolls and some California Unamaki Rolls(Inside out rolls). So a week goes by and I found myself at Whole foods and looking at some great tuna on New Years Eve and what the heck I couldn't resist so Sushi to ring in the New Year.. This time my special guest was Greg and the technique is getting better,,,tighter rolls with better seams. The hand rolls are good but I think I am making them too big. I guess its the super size syndrome but sometime bigger is not better.. but thet were very good. So if you like Sushi and are adventureous enough to eat a rookies rolls let me know and we will rollsome up. Rich....

nearly perfect week, although exhausting...

Plus I'm still snorky...two colds this season already....wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Well Wednesday night Brenda and I got together to exchange gifties. And since we pretty much IM each other daily, it was strange to be sitting together talking But Awesome. At one point we were sitting on the couch next together, each of us with our laptops on our laps....perfect, we are 'puter junkies.

Then Thursday night, we met Kristopher (in town from NY) at Taro's for sushi!!!! We caught up, shared some sushi and libations! Yum! Then to cap the evening, we headed to Crossroads (consignment) and Total Beauty Experience and sniffed the hell outta a million candles. Its amazing, he moves to NY and we see him more-I love it and him.

Friday at work not a lot of work was accomplished but my posse of crazy lady coworkers took a break from internet surfing and went to Hooters for lunch. Lori's birthday was the 23rd and mine being the first...they made us hoola hoop while five Hooters (or is that ten) girls sang to us...yes it was packed. I had nightmare flashbacks to Farrels as a kid~eck!

Then Saturday, My Day! We saw Happy Feet at the Imax (cute!), went to my fav thrift store in Davis, ate at Fuzios and capped the evening with Mark Dyle and us racing go karts at RPM. Loved it...10 minutes of getting my arse passed but I was the only grrl out there. Now that we are members, anyone want to go with us...we are hooked!!!

Sunday trip to the farmers market, Whole food and sushi dinner, home made by Chef Rich'e....happiely we are tucked away home for NYE, Lori O lent us a movie and we are set for a quiet evening. Happy New Year all!!!!

Merry Christmas

We visited the Pyle's, Aaron's, my mom and Rich's brother. Awesome day, do I really have to go to work tomorrow???? And I think Santa treated Mike the best with his new '54 Chevrolev!!! And Markie, those coveralls look totally styling!!! Sweet dreams all!
