where to begin???

Welp, Sunday night we saw David Sedaris speak and imagine this, I got offended...and I've been working on this analogy all night...thats like going to see Sam Kinasin/Andrew Dice Clay/ect and being offended. I still think he's genius its just interesting how we all have our own issues that are super personal and sensitive. So I am not turned off just a little put off.

Other events, I completed our "group project" fountain~love it.

Then tonight it was Ladies night out, Boogie, Nanette, Sandy and I all met at Zocolos (sp?) great stories, company and friends. The time change is jacking me up and I'm waiting to adjust.

Mini Scorpio Party

Our dearest friends, Mark and Edda Pyle and Margaret and Mike Aarons went to Sushi for Mark and Margaret's birthdays Friday night. And it was amazing to me, Mike actually likes Sushi more than Rich...it was great...then back to our house to imbibe in a few libations. Drinks drank, music played and picture viewing forced on poor Mike and Margaret. We all had a great time catching up and sharing stories~happy birthdays friends.

Quik Kelly Kamping

We ran up the hill to do a little camping at Kelly's Saturday. Through the dogs in the back, iced some beers and grabbed our warmest sleeping bags. Saturday night was great partying, catch up and a bit of horseshoes. Kelly shared his bear stories with me and I hope the bear stays away, if it knows whats good for it!!! Sunday was great lazying around the camp, fixing some plumbing and beading with all the kids.

a night of Theatre....(spoken is true John Levitz flair..)

Well as you might have seen, our nephew has dropped a couple messages here pimping his schools's past and present productions...so tonight we went to see Bryce and Godspell. He was the "warm up" act, for the show...offering balloon flowers and swords for the kids (all for a meager fee...), harassing the audience and sharing his strong strenght of character with the world. Bryce what a treat, its been tooooo long and you got us out to see a great show. Plus Godspell is one of my favorite movies and out of respect, I chose not to sing out loud (but inside I was belting out the songs). We also came the same night as Bryce's mom, Jo and baby Beau (aka monkey boy), what a treat. We have had a number of reunions lately, it must be in our cards...we love it! If you're up in old Fair Oaks tomorrow or Sunday, go see Godspell but beware you may be picked out of the crowd and had a barb or boa thrown your way :D

My Uncle Sonny's 75th birthday

Rich and I drove down to join in the fun in Pahrump, Nevada. Caravan'd with my Sissy and my mom going there. We took the "road less traveled," Road 168 was outrageously beautiful, desolate, the epitome of desert...and so twisted, switch backs and loads of "road narrows and dip" signs. It was a mix of rollercoaster and log ride all in the Flintstone's desert. We left Sac around 10am and pulled into Pahrump after 8pm (oohf). We dropped our bags and we all made a bee line for the slot machines and free drinks !!! No big wins but the free drinks aided our sleep. Saturday we headed to my Uncle's house in the afternoon. We reunited with aunts, uncles and cousins. Then had the opportunity to meet his rowdier friends, Danny, Texas Pa & Ma, Doc, Eve and the list of characters go on and on. We all traded stories, secrets and confessions with Sonny and all had good belly laughs. Thanks Pat for bringing us all together for such a special event. Love to you Uncle Sonny

and Bev and Skip....hope to see you in Loreto.

In the evening we did a bit more gambling...Rich ate Kathy's dinner and Auntie Ann spent a little too much time at the poker game and we found that the better drinks are next door at the Terrible's Casino. The drive home today started early so we could drive through Death Valley. Then the back side of the Sierra Nevada’s...Ansel Adams Wilderness and the fall colors in Markleeville were yellow, oranges and reds on fire. We are pooped and forever indebted to Sean and Lori for taking care of our furry family-THANKS SO MUCH!!!

A Weekend of Religious Theatre and Meat

I spent the weekend photographing the Festival of Our Lady of Fatima, the patron saint of the Portugese at a small church downtown. The service takes place over 2 days and involves alot of ceremony, incense as well as tons of meat. I had a greattime but lost my weekend to it and the sale of the 4Runner. I think I got a few good pics and now allI have to do is crop them get rid of red eye and burn 10 VCD's for my fee...next time I charge more.
